William J. Young, age 69, of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in the main chapel with Father John Patrick Day officiating. The church is located at 709 Franklin Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Burial and full Military Honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Young family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 at the church with a 7 p.m. rosary following visitation, and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Bill entered into this life on July 3, 1949, in Denver, CO son of the late Joseph and Genevieve Lynch Young. He was a graduate of Austin Peay State University and a retired Veteran of the United States Army. Bill was a member and facility manager at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He also held membership with the Knights of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Paula Campbell.
Survivors include his loving wife, Fran Wimsatt Young; sons, Pat (Amanda) Young, and Rob (Lisa) Young; daughter, Julie (Ryan) Pickett; sisters, Mary (Frank) Drake, and Kathy (Doug) Gertner; brother-in-law, Doug (Karen) Campbell, and granddaughter, Olivia Pickett.
Knights of Columbus and Military will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Knights of Columbus, 709 Franklin St. Clarksville, TN 37040 or Habitat for Humanity, 408 Madison St Clarksville, TN 37040.
