Beverly Jean Salyer passed into her Glory, to be with her Lord, and to reunite Spiritually with her loving husband of seventy years, Homer T. Salyer. Beverly passed peacefully on Monday morning the 8th of August, 2022. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday the 13th of August, 2022 at 11am, at McReynolds Nave & Larson Funeral Home. Visitation will be for two hours preceding the Service. The Reverend Cynthia Pitts will be officiating.
Beverly was born to Alfred R. Dumas and mother Dovie Elizabeth in Wellington, Missouri, on September 24th, 1928. She was preceded in death by all of her brothers; Oscar, Henry, Alfred Jr., and Forest; and by sisters Victoria Danner, Josephine Klotz, and Mary Agan. Gifted of Hollywood good looks, she married her handsome sailor, Homer, on December 30th, 1948.
Her adoring family consists of two sons; Michael Salyer (Shari), and Rev. Stewart P. Salyer (Nancy); four Grandchildren, Shannon Salyer, Stewart M. Salyer, Eric Salyer, and Sara Galyon; and seven Great Grandchildren……Lacy and Graham Bryant, Gabe and Gavin Salyer, Luke Galyon, and, Sara and David Salyer.
Beverly worked as a bookkeeper and tax preparer; was known far and wide for her butterscotch pies, chocolate pies, and banana cakes. She was also a gifted painter and craft maker…..and an exceptional crossword puzzle solver, as a result of being a voracious reader.
