Betty Jane (Stowell) Dean Cook passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023, at Pickett Care and Rehab in Byrdstown, TN.
Betty was born September 22, 1936, in Reedsburg, WI. Betty grew up in Reedsburg and Boscobel Wisconsin and lived in Madison Wisconsin for many years before moving to TN.
Betty is survived by her children, Mark Jones, Cindy Jones-Petersen, Penny (Bob) Munson, Pete (Jane) Jones, Grandchildren Amy, Heather and Erik, Great Grandchildren Maggie, Patrick, Audrey, Daniel, and Olivia, 3 Brothers, several nieces, and a nephew.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Edna Stowell, an infant sister June, her husband’s Harry Jones, William Dean, Philip Cook and a son Scott Jones.
Betty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she taught several craft classes and worked in the Genealogy Library with her best friend Dorothy Brown for many years.
Betty enjoyed crafts of all kinds including cross stitching, knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking; was an excellent seamstress and loved working on genealogy. At the nursing home Betty attended painting and craft classes and enjoyed playing Bingo.
Betty suffered from Dementia. The family would like to thank everyone who helped Betty over the last several years, with a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Pickett Care and Rehab.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday May 11, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
