Betty Miller Rudolph
Clarksville, TN
Betty Miller Rudolph passed away at home, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the age of 90.
She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Louise Miller, brother, Frank Perkins Miller, husband, Matt H. Rudolph, Jr., and her son, Matt H. Rudolph III.
Mrs. Rudolph is survived by her son, Jack Miller Rudolph (Helen) of Clarksville, and daughter, Bunny Rudolph King (Jim) of Brentwood. Grandchildren are Courtney Lee Rudolph, Jack Madison Rudolph, Jeffrey Battle Rudolph, John Ross Rudolph, William Parker Peay, Matt Miller Peay. Her three great grandchildren are Cole Rudolph, Clay Rudolph, and Chloe Rudolph.
Betty will be remembered as a loving mother, for her kindness to others, her beautiful smile, and her always elegant and gracious appearance. She was beautiful both inside and out. Betty loved to be with people and loved to laugh. Anyone who has heard that laugh will never forget it. She was a friend to all she met and had a genuine interest in everyone. She was a caring person and extended numerous acts of kindness.
Betty loved Clarksville. As a lifelong resident she was a Clarksville High School cheerleader and Austin Peay Homecoming Queen. At the University of Tennessee she was a member of Chi Omega Fraternity and a ROTC Sponsor where, as she always said, she was hopelessly out of step. She was a member of Madison Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Blue Class Sunday School.
Her last years kept her mostly at home. However, she was blessed to have the love and extraordinary care from her band of angels Joy Hughes, Ruby Cross, Eleanor Harris, Margo Grant, and Kathy Ragan. Betty kept them alternatively laughing and exasperated. We were so blessed to have them with our mother.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 7 from 3 til 6 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, May 8th 2017 at Madison Street Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Mike Rudolph, Jeff Rudolph, John Rudolph, Will Peay, Matt Peay, and Ray Rudolph.
Memorials may be made to MSUMC Urban Ministries, c/o Madison Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 864, Clarksville, TN 37040 or to the Clarksville-Montgomery Co. Humane Society, 940 Tennessee Ave., Clarksville, TN 37040.
