Betty Nichols, age 88, a loving mother and grandmother, passed away on February 6, 2024. She was born on October 13, 1935, to the late Horace and Sara Smith Taylor.
To honor and remember Betty, services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The Hilldale Baptist Church family was dear to Betty’s heart. She found great joy singing praises to her Savior as a member of the church choir.
After growing up in Crossville, TN, Betty began her career with Life & Casualty in Nashville, TN. She later worked for the government in Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY. Betty eventually left her career field to care for her daughter, Kimberly.
Betty had a remarkable impact on countless lives throughout her journey. She earned an associate degree in social work at Austin Peay State University, served as a club scout den mother, and was a kidney donor to her daughter, Kim. She was known as a poet, baker, hostess, and seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene "Nick" Nichols; daughter, Kimberly Nichols, and daughter, by marriage, Pamela Nichols-Griffing.
She leaves behind her sons, Jeff (Lesa) Chandler, Jason (Jill) Chandler; son by marriage, Mike Nichols; grandchildren, Nicholas Chandler and McKamie Chandler; grandchildren by marriage, Stacy Wilkins and Kreaux Morrison.
