Betty Maynard

Betty Bostick Maynard, 78, Clarksville, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Rainey officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Saturday and from 12 noon until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.

She was born July 19, 1930 in Dyersburg, TN and preceded in death by her parents, Ralph F. and Evelyn Stutts Bostick; husband, Melvin L. Maynard Jr.; brother-in-law, Jere Bradshaw. Mrs. Maynard was a retired professor of Physical Education at Austin Peay State University, a member of First Methodist Church of Dyersburg and Chi Omega and a graduate of the University of Tennessee. Survivors include her son, Melvin L. (Dorothea) Maynard III, Clarksville; GrandChildren, Louis Maynard and Alora Maynard; sister, Peggy B. Bradshaw, Dyersburg; niece, Dianne Bradshaw Fielder, Louisville, TN; nephew, Jere T. Bradshaw Jr., Nashville.
