Betty Dean Knight, 79, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at her home in Clarksville.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwight Reed officiating. Entombement will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Betty was born September 12, 1933 in Savannah, TN, the youngest of 16 children to John and Calline Bowen Turner. Betty was a homemaker, a member of the VFW and American Legion, and a Baptist.
In addition to her parents and siblings that predeceased her she was preceded by her husband Edward B. Knight.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Atkins and her husband John and son, Michael Knight and his wife Darla; grandchildren, Christopher Darden and wife Tina, Melissa Beck, Timothy Knight, Ryan Knight, Jordan Knight, Morgan Knight, Melissa Weathers and husband Robbie and James D'Angelo; great grandchildren, Jessica Schurman, Rebecca Darden, McKenna Beck, Gavin Beck, Clayte Weathers, Jordan Weathers, Elizabeth Weathers, and Devante Mello; and sister, Marie Ramsey of Moro, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Edward Weaver, Jim Henderson, Mel Smith, Nick Chesser, Larry Alford, and John Johnson.
The Knight family would like to extend a special thanks to Betty's caregivers:Audrey Baggett, Linda Shores, Carmen Olivo, and the staff of AseraCare Hospice.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Alive Hospice.
