Betty Ellis

Betty J. Ellis, 79, Clarksville, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at Montgomery Care & Rehab. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Pastors Larry W. Ellis, Wilbert Ellis and Garner Smith officiating. Burial will be in Tatum-Coleman Cemetery, Houston County. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Ellis was born October 7, 1930 in Nashville and was the daughter of the late Robert R. and Myrtle Bull Spears. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 62+ years, Carl Ellis, Jr., Clarksville; sons, Larry W. (Janet) Ellis, Livermore, KY, Wilbert L. (Kathy) Ellis, Florence, KY; brother, Billy R. Spears, Vanleer; sisters, Irene Spears Adkins, Vanleer, Lillie B. Spears Baggett, Dover, Sarah Spears Yates, Salcha, AK, J. Faye Spears Cripps, Lebanon, TN, Patricia Spears Kouns, Nashville; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Matthew Ellis, Alex Ellis, Tanya Thornberry, Aaron Ellis, Nathanael Ellis and Rachel Ellis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 4205 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215.
