Bessie Biter

Bessie Irene Biter, 77, Cunningham, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Ken Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born February 9, 1932 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late Vernon and Louise Herrell Devers. She was also preceded in death by brothers Raymond Devers, Frank Devers, and Allen Devers, and sister Gladys Epps. Mrs. Biter was retired from Booster Manufacturing Company and was a Christian. Survivors include her husband Paul D. Biter of Cunningham; son Raymond (Pamela) Biter of Cunningham; grandson Jody (Brandy) Biter, also of Cunningham; great-grandchildren Lacey Biter and Adam Biter; brothers Lonnie Devers of Southside, Winston Devers of Southside, Mack Devers of Palmyra; and sisters Frances Nicks of Cumberland Furnace, Alene Proctor of Southside, and Sue Devers of Southside. Pallbearers will be Jody Biter, Lonnie Devers, Jr., Todd Devers, Phillip Epps, Billy Epps, and Michael Haneline.
