Bertha Ann Bates, 72, Clarksville, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at her residence. The funeral will be held at 1pm Wednesday at McReynolds-Nave-Larson Chapel with Pastor Charles Martin and Pastor John Arnold officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave-Larson and from 11am until service time Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born February 29, 1936 in Humbolt, TN the daughter of the late Gilbert F. Smith and Hester Garrett Smith. She was a homemaker and memeber of Fellowship United Methodist Church. Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband Morley "Bob" Bates, Sons, Richard W."Rick" Bates, William A. "Butch" Bates, all of Clarksville, daughter, Ruth A. (Gary) Willougby, Paris, TN, brother, Clyde H.(Helen)Smith, Charlotte, TN, Sisters, Peggy A.(Dallas) Runner, Susan A. Lambert, Betty L.(Bill) Baker, all of Clarksville, grandchildren, William R. Baynes, Dakota L. Bates, Cody W. Bates, Brandi A. McClure, Karen N. Bates, greatgrandchildren, Brandon G. Dunlop, Dylan T. Baynes, Natalie A. Baynes. Friends and Family will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements in the care of McReynolds-Nave-Larson Funeral Home, 931-647-3371.
