Bernard Canby

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Bernard Lee Canby, 82 of Clarksville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 21, 2015 with his wife by his side. He had bravely confronted and fought COPD.
A funeral mass will take place at 11a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Father David Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 4-5:30 p.m. with a prayer service to follow on Tuesday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday at the church.
He was born on February 28, 1932 in Berkley County, West Virginia, the son of Lewis Samuel Canby and Wilma Jean McGinnis Canby. He proudly served his country for 23.5 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Master Sergeant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Amalie Canby; brother, Gary; sister, Wilma Jean; sons, Junior, Leon and his wife Sandy, and Ricky and his wife Kathy; daughters, Doris, Shirley, and Barbara. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He will be dearly remembered and missed.
