Ben Sory "Skins" Adkins

Ben Sory "Skins" Adkins, 77, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at his home in Southside.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Rev. James Shepherd officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Ben was born August 31, 1935 in Montgomery Co., TN, son of Calvin Russell Adkins and Fannie Love Hodges Adkins. In his youth, Ben was a public servant, working as a Daytona Beach Life Guard and then for the Clarksville Fire Department. He then answered the calling to dutifully serve his country in the U.S. Army. Afterward, Ben spent the rest of his working career as a brick mason. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his loving wife, Nancy Ruth Perry Adkins; his sons, Charles Russell Adkins, Shannon Howell Adkins, and Nathaniel Paul Adkins and his wife Shanna; grandson, Justin Nathaniel Adkins; his brothers, Charles Russell Adkins "Mickey", Donald Ray Adkins, and Michael Adkins; sister, Virginia Bell Pierson; and his favorite dog, Jack. Ben was preceded in death by his brothers, George Howell Adkins and David Paul Adkins (Sam).
