Barney Byard, 92, of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Ted Denny and Rev. Craig Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Keesee Cemetery.
The Byard family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 and 12 p.m. until the hour of service Friday at the funeral home.
Barney entered into this life on August 9, 1925, son of the late Sterling and Carrie Byard. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Barney had 57 years of perfect attendance in his Sunday school class.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret Walker Byard; son, David (Judy) Byard; daughters, Rosie (Gene) Lee, and Kelly (Ricky) Mixon; brother, AB Byard; grandchildren, Mechelle (Jim) Wambold, Sabrina (Nathan) Holmes, George (Denise) Byard, Michael (Tiffany) Byard, Shantell (Justin) Hopper, Lynsie (Justin) Strohman, Christy (Jeremy) Colby, Brian (Stephanie) Mixon, and Jason (Brooke) Mixon; great-grandchildren, James, Bailey, Keaton, Ashten, Brenna, Morgan, Sadie, Tristin, Lacey, Michelle, Michael, Bailey, Michael “Mac”, Tyler, Cameron, Jaxon, and Mackinzie. Pallbearers will be Don Laws, Danny Stone, Don Newlove, Dave Brown, Jeff Akin, and Phillip Hopper.
