Barbara Kay Black Sumner, 58, Huntsville, Alabama, died Friday, December 3, 2010, in Huntsville. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Bro. Richard Boone officiating. Burial will be in Alsobrooks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Nave Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Barbara was born August 6, 1952 in Detroit, MI, daughter of Imogene Averitt and the late James L. Black, and was the grandaughter of Noah and Myrtle Boone Averitt and Jake and Bertha Robison Black. Barbara passed away late Friday night after an extended illness. Survivors include her mother Imogene Averitt of McEwen, TN, sons Jason Howard (son of Kirk Howard) of Huntsville, Jeremy Bromley (son of Rick Bromley) of Clarksville, TN, grandchildren Thad Ward, Noah and Emma Grace Howard, and Taylor Bromley. Pallbearers will be Sherman Averitt, Hank Roy, Randy Darrell, Gerry Black, Dean Black, and Steven Black.
