Barbara L. Peay, 81 of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at her residence.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday evening at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the chapel.
Barbara was born on February 27, 1934 in Seattle, Washington, daughter of the late Edwin Wedell and Bernice Johnson Wedell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Al Porter.
She is survived by son, Austin Peay VII, daughter, Marty Peay Shaw and husband Grant, and her beloved grandson, Landon Austin Shaw all of Clarksville. Sister, Delores Porter, niece, Susie McAllister and husband Kirk, and many great nieces and nephews all of Washington State.
Barbara was retired from F&M Bank. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed classical music and theater. She had a soft heart for all animals and was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Pallbearers will be James Corlew Jr., Evans Peay, John Gannon, Larry Lyle, Rob Holleman, and Scott Bryant.
