Barbara Walls Mixon, age 94, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Arcadia Senior Living.
A celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, TN with Dr. Valerie James officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the hour of the service.
An additional celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Henke Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 North Wright Rd., Janesville, Wisconsin. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the Henke Clarson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Barbara was born Oct 23, 1927, in Morgantown, WV, the daughter of the late Russell R. Walls Sr. and Grace M. Snider Walls. She attended West Virginia University. She was married to her late husband Jack C. Mixon in 1951. After his retirement from the United States Army in 1960 and a short stay in Columbia, MO, they moved to Janesville, WI, where she was a homemaker and a active member of Cargill United Methodist Church serving on numerous committees, boards, clubs, and commissions. They moved to Clarksville, TN in 2002 to be near family. She enjoyed traveling, needlework and playing bridge with friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Sally Kay Mixon, her brothers John Kenneth Walls (Ila Rose) and Russell Walls Jr., and granddaughter Martina Mixon (Eric) Englund.
Survivors include her son David (Donna) Mixon of Chapmansboro, TN , granddaughter Stephanie (Chris) Gilliland, triplet great-grandsons Chase, Chandler and Brayden Boone, great-granddaughters Kaili, Bailey and Alyssa of Clarksville, TN and first born great-grandchild, Ashley Englund of Odessa, TX. Survivors also include two nephews, Randall and Judson (Barbara) Walls and two nieces Valerie (Cliff) Hefner and Laurice (Doug) Haynes and their respective families.
