Barbara McLaughlin Moore

Barbara McLaughlin Moore- died peacefully on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Barbara was born in Greensboro, NC on May 29, 1928 and grew up in a Quaker community with five siblings who all predeceased her. She studied at the Woman's College in UNC, the Cleveland Art Institute, and the University of Tennessee. She was employed over the years as an executive secretary in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Knoxville, and Nashville, culminating with a fourteen-year tenure in the Pastoral Care office of St. Thomas Hospital. She wed in 1950 to Wallace V. Moore and was married for 62 years until Wally passed away in December of 2011. Their daughter Karen passed away in 2017. Surviving are two children: Janet Moore Miller (David) and Roger Moore (Connie). A private memorial service will be held at a later date and she will be interred alongside Wally at the Veterans Cemetery on McCrory Creek Road in Nashville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 87 at Belle Meade Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Road, 37205 where Wally served as a Scoutmaster.
