Austin Smith

Mr. Austin Smith, age 86 of Erin, TN, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Nashville, TN.
A Celebration of his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the chapel of Nave Funeral Home with Bro. Benny Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with full military honors.
The Smith family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday afternoon.
Austin entered this life on February 1, 1930 in Stewart County, TN son to the late Herman and Ruth Ethel Smith. Austin proudly served his country in the United States Army, and after service to his country, Austin spent his time building homes all over Houston County.
In addition to his parents, Austin was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy Brooks Smith; son, Carl Smith; daughter, Wanda Lockhart; sister, Mavis Rassi; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Barnes, Chuck Strech, Tony Brooks, Brandon Brooks, James “Buck” Smith, Jason Burgess, Blake Smith, and Tony Markin. Honorary pallbearers include Wilber Lewis, Tommy Nichols, Dickie Marable, Shane Smith, Brian Lockhart, Stanley Hall, Eddie Brooks, and Dustin Lockhart.
