Arthur Glenn "Art" Burr, age 78, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Friday night, October 20, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with the Bro. John Richardson and Bro. Mike Madewell officiating. Art will be laid to rest at Mallory's Cemetery.
Art's family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church.
Art entered into this life on May 14, 1939 in Robertson County to the late Arthur Holman Burr and Ruth Ashabraner Burr. As a young man, Art served his country in the U.S. Navy. He later worked for and retired from his career with the Trane Company where he worked as a Computer Programmer. Following his retirement, Art enjoyed working as a driver for Jenkins & Wynne. He was a member of the church family at Mt. Herman Baptist Church where he also served as a Deacon.
In addition to his parents, Art is preceded in death by his brothers, Morris, Fred, James, Billy, and Robert Burr and sister, Roberta Fizer. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Knox Burr; sons Arthur Burr, Jr. (Liz), Dan Williams (Lora), and Marty Williams (Paula); daughter, Lynne Sale; siblings,David Burr, Elsie Ledbetter, Nancy Kidd, Betty Callaway (Bob), and Sue Clark; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Burr, Jr., Dan Williams, Marty Williams, Daniel Williams, Dustin Williams, Dalton Williams, Mitchell Williams, Payton Williams, and Casey Burr. Members of the Men of the Bible Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
