Arlon Smith Herndon Jr., 71, Clarksville, died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
A celebration of his life will be 1p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Revs Rob Titus and Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Military Honors.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Thursday and from 11a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Herndon was born June 28, 1940 in Davidson County and was preceded in death by his parents, Arlon Smith and Clara Edna Allen Herndon.
Arlon was retired from TVA, a U.S. Air Force Veteran and also was a member of the First Assembly of God.
Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Harris Herndon, Clarksville; son, Gary (Sandra) Herndon, Lafayette, Kentucky; daughter, Jennifer (Rob) Titus, Rich Hill, Missouri; sister, Sandra (Phil) Buckner; grandchildren, Amanda Dow, Holly Herndon, Lacy Willey, Caleb Titus, and Tyler Herndon; and also his 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Buckner, Ben Buckner, Sam Buckner, Joshua Harris, Darrell Harris, Michael Milam, and Royce Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Moskalyk, Don Gullett, Mack McClure, Mike Biggs and Dean Danner.
