Annis Herndon

Annis Lyvell Herndon, 84, Cumberland Furance, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Richard Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born May 11, 1924 in Palmyra. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Belle Crawford Hughes; husband, Paschal (Dick) Herndon; brothers, Mack Hughes, Paul Hughes, Howard Hughes; sisters, Ozella Choat and Goldie Patterson. Mrs. Herndon was a homemaker. Survivors include her sons, Clyde "Jackie" (Joyce) Byrd, Clarksville; James Donald (Nancy) Herndon, Oakland, TN; daughter, Donna (Orville) Byrd Elrod, Clarksville; brother, Richard Hughes, Clarksville; sister, Laura Bel Baggett, Palmyra; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be John Hughes, Chris Byrd, Andy Hughes, Scott Herndon, Doug Herndon, Don Velez, Jordon Byrd, Bradley Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be James Crawford, Ray Powell and Richard Hughes.
