Annie Rebecca Smithey, 90, Clarksville, died Thursday, September 2, 2010, at Sterling House of Clarksville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. David Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service Sunday at the funeral home. She was born March 17, 1920 in Montgomery County and was preceded in death by her parents, James Oswald and Mary Elizabeth Blanks Gullette; husband, Lee E. Smithey; daughter, Judy Lee; and her grandson, John Roland Corlew. Mrs. Smithey was a homemaker and a member of Cumberland Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Survivors include her sons, Bobby Lee (Beki) Smithey, Fredonia, Truman Smithey, South Carolina; daughters, Mary Lovelace, South Carolina, Betty C. (James) Corlew, Clarksville; grandson, Sean Edward Smithey, Clarksville; close family friends, Brad Byers, Cookville, and Cheryl Pennington, Clarksville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
