Annie Marie Fowler, age 96, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Columbia.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Mandrell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Annie entered this life on May 5, 1916 in Benton Co., Tennessee daughter to the late Henry and Mary Outlaw Yates. She was retired from a career as a school teacher where she delighted in educating young minds. She was a member of the church family at the First United Methodist Church of Clarksville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Leo Fowler, yet leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, James W. Fowler and his wife Janet Smith of Columbia; her sister, Oretta Askew of Memphis; her grandchildren, Cynthia Powell, Jacquline Bowman, Robert Fowler and Alex Hiles; great grandchildren, Stacy Hawkins, Allison Raines, Jessica Roberts, Katie Cochran, Andy Cochran, and Casey Fowler; and her great-great grandchildren, Charlie Hawkins and Thomas Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Robert Bowman, Andy Cochran, Bob Fowler, and Mark Hawkins.
Memorial contributions are preferred to Austin Peay State University c/o the Office of University Advancement, Browning Building, Room 216, P. O. Box 4417, Clarksville, TN 37044.
