Amy Fish passed away peacefully at her home in Erin, Tennessee, July 26, 2020 at the age of 85.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Wilda Hickerson; a sister Mary B “Mickey” Gill; a sister Carol Ann; and her husband of 53 years, David B. (Buddy) Fish.
She is survived by her four sons: David Fish (Debbie) of Paducah, KY; Jimmy Fish (Vanessa) of Madison, AL; Bill Fish (Becky) of Clarksville, TN; and Eric Fish (Carolyn) of Erin. She is also survived by her sister Ruby “Dale” Haliburton, a brother Hugh Hickerson, and a sister Betty Jean Smith.
She has eight grandchildren: David, Brandon, Jamie, Cameron, Lindsey, Jessie, Cassie, and Jake; and two great-grandsons, Lofton and Fisher.
Amy was born in Shiloh, Tennessee and lived in middle Tennessee until she was 18. She met the man of her dreams in Clarksville, TN, a soldier stationed at Fort Campbell, KY. She and Buddy were married in 1954 and spent the next 15 years in his hometown in New Jersey. They moved back to Tennessee in 1969 and raised their four boys in Erin. Amy owned/worked at Hickerson’s Grocery for about 10 years, but was mostly dedicated to taking care of her home and being a mother to her boys.
Amy loved being with her family and hosting or participating in family events. Her boys and grandkids were involved in many activities, and Amy made it a priority to be there and to “cheer” them on - loudly. Everything from, soccer, gymnastics, band, parades, cheerleading, football, recitals, beauty pageants and motorcycle races … just to name a few. She was easily their biggest fan.
When Buddy retired, they enjoyed their time together traveling to see their sons and grandkids. A favorite gathering place for them was at the beach. There were lots of trips and memories made with her family at the beach. They enjoyed trips to various national historic places as well.
Visitation and Funeral will be at Nave’s Funeral Home, Erin, TN.
