Alton Cherry age 69, of Clarksville past away Saturday May 7th, 2016 at his home.
Celebration of life will held 1 p.m. on Saturday May 14, 2016 at McReynolds – Nave & Larson Chapel with Rev. Robert Spurgeon officiating. Visitation will be Friday May 13, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service. Burial will follow at Smith – Austin Cemetery.
Alton was born on January 28th, 1947 in Stewart County to the late Johnny Cothran and Anna Lorene Harrison. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Inez Steeley Cherry.
He was a US Army and Viet Nam Veteran. He was the owner of A & H Transmission for over 35 years and a Baptist.
Survivors include his son Chris Cherry and his wife Tammy, daughter Cathy Bentley and her husband Rick, grandchildren; Courtney (Stephen) Jewell, Heather (Devon) Dominick, Ashley (DJ) Little and Brittany (Ryan) Thomas, sister Barbara Hymes.
