Allan Herbert Thomack, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastors Larry Peters and Daniel Ulrich officiating. Allan's family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church.
Allan was born on July 10, 1935 in Waupaca, Wisconsin to the late Ernest and Ida Oppermann Thomack. He was a devoted 31 year employee of Trane Company where he worked as a talented and gifted Draftsman in the Engineering Lab. He began his career at the LaCrosse, Wisconsin plant before eventually moving and settling his family in Clarksville to work in the local Trane manufacturing facility. Additionally, Allan was a devoted member of Grace Lutheran Church, former board member of Habitat for Humanity, caring husband, and doting father and grandfather. Allan enjoyed outdoor hobbies, spending time in God's creation - hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening were all things he loved to do in his free time. He also enjoyed the occasional card game.
In addition to his parents, Allan was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Crofton, and brothers, Ernest, Alwin, Walter, Donald, Martin, and Herbert Thomack.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 62 years, Maren Moilien Thomack; their sons and their wives, David (Jo-Ann), Peter (Dawn), and Erik (Sheila). He also leaves behind his grandchildren whom he adored, Aaron Thomack, Emily Tubbs (Johnny), Jonathan Thomack, Rebecca Thomack, Kurt Thomack, Nathan Thomack, and James Thomack; a sister, Eileen Dordal; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
