Alice Kay Smith

Alice Kay Smith, age 68 of Southside, TN, went home on March 7, 2017 to where the streets are golden and every chain is broken.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow at Louise United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and from 11 a.m. to the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Alice was born on July 17, 1948 to the late Dossie and Stella Black of Cumberland Furnace, TN. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Black and grandchildren, Avery Smith and Everley Smith. Alice Kay was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Alice Kay drove a school bus for 26 years for the Clarksville Montgomery County School System. She truly loved and cared for every child she transported. After her health began to fail, she spent the remaining years of her life surrounded by her loving family at her home in Southside. Alice Kay was a special lady, she loved everyone and everyone loved her. She was a member of Louise United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Douglas Smith; son, Dossie Wade (Keri) Smith; daughter, Allison (Lorne) Christy; sister, Betty Jean Meek; granddaughters, Laken Christy and Brooke Christy; grandsons, Daniel Smith, Grant Christy, Brady Smith, and Easton Smith.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Smith, Tyler Smith, Michael Suiter, James Black, Bill Black, and Christian Meek.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Louise UMC Cemetery Fund in c/o JoAnn Chadwick at 350 Highway 13, Cunningham, TN 37052.
