Alice Jones Edwards, age 94, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with the Reverends Tim Ferrell and Rocky Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday and 12 noon until the hour of service Sunday.
Alice entered into this life on October 7, 1922 in Montgomery County, daughter to Virgil and Doris Grant Jones. Alice attended Clarksville High School and graduated from there with the Class of 1940. Later, she retired after a 29 year career with the Farm Bureau Insurance Co. She was a dedicated and beloved member of the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church family and served as the Church Treasurer for over 70 of the 80 years of her church fellowship there. Alice was very active in church and community activities.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her loving husband, Hershel "Preacher" Edwards; her son, Wendel Edwards; and siblings, Ray Jones, Billy Jones, and Eleanor Jones Corvo.
Survivors include her niece, Tony Smith (Leo) of Tuscon, AZ, and her extended family, Tim (Etta) Ferrell, Shannon (Christie) Ferrell, Charli Beth (Jacob) Hill, and her beloved great grandchildren, Victoria Chaulk and Carson Ferrell, all of Woodlawn.
Serving as pallbearers are Carson Ferrell, Jacob Hill, Darrell Holt, Dustin Jackson, Damon Ross, Larry Meek, Rick Shelby, and Danny Meek. Honorary pallbearers are Emerson Burney, Jesse Taylor, Soapy Pollard, and David Frey.
Memorials are preferred to the Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church, c/o Mr. Pollard, 470 Kristie Michelle Ln., Clarksville, TN 37042.
