Alice E. (Friberg) Dickson, 97, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 6, 2016.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Gunda (Dyrli) Friberg. Alice was an educator at Lyndhurst High School in Lyndhurst, NJ, from 1938 until 1984. She attended Trenton State Teacher’s College where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree and she received her Master’s Degree in Business Education from New York University. She also received her Guidance Counselor Certificate from Seton Hall University.
She leaves a son and his wife, Robert Eric and Cheryl Ann Dickson of South Hadley, a daughter, Nancy Jean Hood and her husband, Dr. Glenn Kenyon Hood, of New Milford, CT, five grandchildren, Jodie Dickson, Jessica O’Dell, Emma Stadolnik, Travis Hood, Tyler Hood, and two great-grandchildren, Reed O’Dell and Grant O’Dell.
She was predeceased by her former husband, Grafton Harned Dickson and a brother, Vincent Friberg.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Southside Cemetery in Southside, Tennessee.
