Alan Bonnin, 58, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home on March 21, 2025.
Beloved husband of Constance “Connie” Bonnin for 31 years, Alan was the devoted father of four sons: Alan Troy Bonnin Jr. (Ian Michael), Alexander Shawn Bonnin (Bethany), Isaac Ryan Bonnin, and Jacob Aaron Bonnin. He was a proud brother to Brian Bonnin, Rhea McCloskey, and Frank Bonnin, and a loyal companion to his cherished service dog, Cerberus.
A U.S. Army veteran, Alan served in the 1980s in both Germany and Korea and was recalled during the Gulf War, where he assisted in cleanup efforts and equipment repatriation. For 29 years, he dedicated himself to his work at TRANE, until medically retiring to begin a courageous three-year battle with mesothelioma—a testament to his resilience and unyielding strength.
Alan’s greatest adventure began in July 1993, when he joined a Dungeons & Dragons campaign led by Connie. By August, they were dating; by September, husband and wife. The next year, their family grew with the arrival of their first son, Alan Troy Jr. A lifelong gamer, Alan shared his love of storytelling, strategy, and laughter with his wife and sons, fostering a home where every day felt like a new campaign.
Generous to his core, Alan lived to ensure his family and loved ones were cared for, protected, and uplifted. He anonymously covered veterinary bills for struggling families, funded accessibility upgrades for community spaces, and devoted himself to quiet acts of kindness that changed lives. His legacy is one of fierce loyalty, laughter, and love that knew no bounds.
Your love was a natural 20, Alan. We’ll keep rolling for kindness in your name.
