Aileen Slaughter

March 9, 1934 — August 23, 2015

Zora “Aileen” Slaughter of Clarksville, Tennessee, age 81, died Sunday, August 23, 2015.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Kim Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 1 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Aileen was born March 9, 1934 in Apple Grove, WV, the daughter of Clarence A. and Elizabeth Ash Thomas of Huntington, WV, both deceased. She is also preceded in death by sons, Clarence Edward Slaughter and John Lee Slaughter.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, SFC (Ret.) David Lee Slaughter; daughters and daughter-in-law, Clarice Roxane Fruin of Clarksville, Jennifer Lee Holland of Liberty Hill, Texas, and Fawnda Gail Slaughter of Clarksville; 4 grandchildren and 12-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Slaughter was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Point Pleasant, WV, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Covington, KY, and received her Bachelor of Nursing from Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN. She practiced nursing from 1954 until she retired from Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in 1994 after 35 years of civil service.
She was active in Girl Scouts for over 29 years, and member of Eastern Stars Post 547. Mrs. Slaughter was a member of Little West Fork Baptist Church of Clarksville, TN.
Pallbearers will be members of Little West Fork Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little West Fork Baptist Church Sound System Fund.
