Obituary for James Patrick Goettel

James Patrick Goettel
James Patrick Goettel, age 59, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 while at his home surrounded by his family.
A private Celebration of Life with full Army honors will be held at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
James entered into this life on October 16, 1959, in New York to the late Raymond and Lillian Hammond Goettel. James retired from the United States Army and had bravely served in the Gulf War. He had attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and was the recipient of numerous medals and citations throughout his military career including four MSM's, eight AAM's, six GCM's, three SASM's, and the Air Assault Badge. During his retirement years James enjoyed relaxing and watching his favorite television shows. He would often say “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”
Survivors include his loving wife, Stephanie Manzo Goettel; sons, James A. Goettel, and Nicholas R. Goettel; siblings, Darlene G. Lomax, Raymond J. Goettel, Mary E. Giacalone, and Jacqueline G. Goettel; sisters in law, Michelle and Angelina, and Lucille; and many nieces and nephews.
