Obituary for Shirley Stewart

Shirley Stewart
Shirley Ann Stewart, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the chapel of McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Freeman and Pat Van Dyke officiating. Burial will follow in the Cox Cemetery in Elkton, KY.
Shirley's family will receive friends Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Shirley entered into this life on January 31, 1937 in Cadiz, Kentucky to the late Jack and Milissie Wallace McBride. She worked alongside her late husband of 50 years, Thomas S. Stewart, in the family hearing aid business. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville where she was a decision counselor and served as a Sunday School Teacher, worked in the children's nursery and was a member of the choir. She enjoyed being a part of the worldwide sisterhood of gifted singers, The Sweet Adelines, and also loved being active in the local tennis league. Shirley and Tom enjoyed their many travels together, and she also enjoyed traveling with her church family. Especially the trip to Israel with her daughter and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Andrew (Sonja) Stewart and Elaine (Ken) Kelly. Additionally, Shirley was the proud grandmother of Michael (Ally) Kelly, Matthew (Calla) Kelly, Margaret Kelly, and Andrew Stewart and great grandmother to Clayton Matthew Kelly.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either First Baptist Church of Clarksville or to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be made online at NaveFuneralHomes.com.
